Jubilee 2025: A Year of Grace and Renewal for Mercy Schools

Pope Francis has announced the celebration of Jubilee 2025, a Holy Year dedicated to the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” This special year invites the global Catholic community to renew their faith, experience God’s mercy, and reflect on their call to serve others.

For Mercy schools, Jubilee 2025 is a powerful opportunity to connect our mission with this universal call to hope and renewal. Catherine McAuley’s legacy of compassion and service aligns beautifully with the Jubilee’s focus on mercy and pilgrimage. It’s a chance for our school communities to deepen their faith, foster hope and actively engage in works of justice and mercy.

How Mercy Schools Can Take Part:

  1. Incorporate the Jubilee Theme: Highlight “Pilgrims of Hope” in school liturgies, retreats, and classroom discussions.
  2. Encourage Pilgrimage: Organize local pilgrimages to sacred spaces or create symbolic journeys within your school community.
  3. Engage in Service: Plan service projects that reflect Catherine McAuley’s dedication to those in need.
  4. Educate on Mercy: Host assemblies, guest speakers and/or activities that teach students about the significance of Jubilee years in the Catholic Church.
