Mercy Alumna Commissioned as Mercy Volunteer
Mercy Volunteer Corps commissioned their 2024 – 2025 Mercy Volunteers on August 10, 2024, at Mother Boniface Spirituality Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. These 11 new Mercy Volunteers include Micaela Deutsch, pictured on the left, a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women in Rochester, New York, who is back for her second stint with Mercy Volunteer Corps in Guyana. This year she will serve at St. John Bosco Boys’ Academy. Micaela also participated in a service trip to Guyana during her time at Our Lady of Mercy.
Mercy Volunteers cultivate mercy and justice in the world by embracing compassionate service, social justice, spiritual growth, and a simple lifestyle in community. This year’s volunteers will live in six communities and serve at 11 service sites.
Mercy Volunteers are excellent speakers on topics of service, justice and spirituality. Please contact Andrea Haller, Community Coordinator for Mercy Volunteer Corps, if you’d like information about having a Mercy Volunteer inspire your school, class, club or other student gathering. Both in-person and virtual presentations are possible.
Please encourage your alumnae/alumni to consider applying to be a Mercy Volunteer. The application period is now open for short- and long-term opportunities with Mercy Volunteer Corps. You can share these application links:
