Living the Mercy Mission in Solidarity with Immigrants
Immigration is one of the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy, and within our Mercy Education community, we are privileged to see these Critical Concerns woven into the fabric of school life.
Recent executive orders issued by U.S. President Donald Trump have varying implications for our schools. For some, students and their families may face the devastating reality of deportation and separation. For others, where the impact may not be as direct, our shared commitment to the Critical Concerns calls us to stand in solidarity with the vulnerable. In this spirit, we offer the following resources to support our community in responding with compassion and justice.

The Mercy Justice Team recently shared: “President Trump’s executive orders have dramatically changed the face of policy and advocacy in swift fashion. … Immigration, climate, and energy policy changed significantly just hours after the inauguration, and other changes are likely to follow.”
These developments profoundly impact the issues tied to our Critical Concerns. As Mercy school communities, we carry forward the legacy of Catherine McAuley, remaining attuned to the needs of our time and responding with compassion, justice, and mercy—always mindful of the most vulnerable among us. Please find educational resources on all the Mercy Critical Concerns on our website.
