Celebrating Eight Years of Mercy Education with a Renewed Mission

As Mercy Education marks its eighth anniversary, we are proud to share a renewed mission statement that affirms our purpose and clarifies our deep commitment to the Mercy Catholic schools we serve.

Since our founding in 2017, Mercy Education has worked to unite and support schools in Argentina, Belize, Guam, Honduras, Jamaica, the Philippines and the United States. Our renewed mission statement strengthens this identity by emphasizing our service to “educational communities,” a phrase that reflects the vibrant, faith-filled ministries that embrace and live the Mercy charism each day.

“The heart of our work has always been supporting schools in the Mercy tradition,” said Sister Lisa Griffith, RSM, Executive Director of Mercy Education. “As we look to the future, this renewed mission grounds us in that purpose, especially in a world so deeply in need of compassion, courage, and Mercy.”

Renewed Mission Statement

Mercy Education System of the Americas unites and supports Catholic schools embracing the charism of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. Rooted in the Gospel and inspired by Catherine McAuley, Mercy Education nurtures educational communities to develop highly competent, deeply compassionate leaders ready to serve a vulnerable world.

We are grateful for the dedication of our schools and the countless educators, leaders, board members, families, students and alumni/alumnae who make Mercy Education a living ministry. As we look to the future, this renewed mission will guide us in strengthening our shared commitment to faith, excellence, service, and justice.
