The Catholic Church has designated November as Black Catholic History Month. As we celebrate the long history and proud heritage of Black Catholics, we are mindful of the unhealed wounds of systemic racism in our world. Racism, one of the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy, calls us to work to become an anti-racist community – committed to eliminating personal and institutional racism and dismantling oppressive structures, policies and processes.
