SUMMARY:Workshop: Optimize your Fundraising & Alumni Relations Partnerships
DESCRIPTION:Join Mercy Education on Monday, October 26th & Tuesday, October 27th at the Inn at Villanova (near Philadelphia, PA) for this important training for Heads of School and Directors of Advancement and Alumni Relations as we explore how to Optimize your Fundraising and Alumni Relations Partnerships. Led by Mercy Associate and Fundraising Consultant Beth Delaney (who facilitated last year’s successful training), you’ll join Mercy educational leaders from around the country in learning strategies and methods you can implement immediately to empower your leadership team, board members and volunteers to close larger gifts, expand your donor pool, implement the Mercy charism of hospitality to deeply engage and steward alumni and alumni parents, and strengthen partnerships to share the work.\nWe will share best practices and challenges, technical information on generating gifts through Scholarship Granting Organizations(to capitalize on new federal tax incentives) and other special assets, building resiliency and managing change, and tools and resources to build an integrated partnership among your school’s leadership team.\nBeth Delaney is a graduate of both the University of Pennsylvania and Temple and has over 40 years in fundraising experience focusing on fundraising and management consulting. Beth spent 16 years at the University of Pennsylvania as Director of Planned Giving and also worked at the Free Library of Philadelphia for 10 years.  Overall, Beth has over 30 years of a successful track record in soliciting and closing $1million individual gifts, $1.5 million planned gifts, $1million in grants and has created & managed extensive planned giving programs.  Beth has been a freelance consultant since November 2025.\nBeth also worked with several Mercy Schools in the past year on Board trainings and Smart Ways to Give webinars for their donors and boards.  In addition to her vast professional background, Beth truly understands and lives the mission of Mercy.  Beth has been a Mercy Associate for 26 years and currently works on the planning group for the Merion Associates.\nIf your school has had advancement or alumni personnel changes, please forward this invitation to new staff members.  Mercy Education will fund the cost of the meeting, meals, and accommodations (one night at the hotel)  for up to three participants from each school.\nHere is the registration link for the conference.
